Start of the Moray Music Festival 2016
Hundreds of pupils from Schools across the whole of Moray have been rehearsing for weeks in the run up to the biennial festival that runs until Saturday across various venues in Elgin.
Kicking off the Festival in Elgin Town Hall this morning focused on Scottish Country Dancing.
Nervous but happy pupils from Ordiquhill, Portgordon, Crossroads, Lhanbryde, Cullen, Aberchirder, Mosstodloch, Portsoy and Milne's primary Schools took to the floor under the watchful eye of Adjudicator Jimmie Hill and Accompanied by Accordionist Frank Thomson.
Accordionist Frank Thomson struck the first chord , the pupils bowed and from the flying Scotsman, A real from Jeaninie to The Waratah Weaver and Rabbie's Reel, the music rung out and the Kids danced to almost perfection.
It's a shame someone needed to pick a winner but that job fell to Adjudicator Jimmie Hill.
Mr Hill praised all the pupils for a near perfect performance and also credited all the Dance Teachers for their excellent tuition.
Pupils, Teachers, Parents and grandparents held their breath as Mr Hill read out the top 3 Primary Schools.
In third place was Aberchirder Primary School with Portsoy coming in second place but the winner of this section saw Milne's Primary School crowned first place.
