Work progressing on new Elgin High.

Work on the new Elgin High School project is progressing well and the stage has been reached where piling works need to be carried out ahead of construction work starting on the main teaching block.

The work involves driving steel piles into the ground with a hydraulic ram.

Noise and vibration monitoring will be in place during the operation and every effort will be made to keep disturbance to a minimum.

A Moray Council spokesman said: “There is the potential for some disturbance to people living nearby but every effort will be made to keep noise and vibration to a minimum.

“The work will be carried out between 7am and 7pm Monday to Friday and 7am and 4pm on Saturday and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience that may be caused.”
