NIGHT FLYING BY RAF LOSSIEMOUTH FAST JETS.
Typhoons based at RAF Lossiemouth will be carrying out night flying training between 21 – 24 March 2016.
Group Captain Paul Godfrey, Station Commander at RAF Lossiemouth, said:
“We must prepare our air crews for possible operational activity in any environment and therefore they must carry out rigorous training and continuous practice.
Realistic training at night is essential to ensure our crews are proficient in the necessary skills and we do all that we can to minimise disruption to our local community.”
The majority of the training will take place over the Tain Air Weapons Range utilising the area for bombing training.
The sorties will be carried out at various times of the day throughout the week with aircraft returns to RAF Lossiemouth expected to be no later than 1130.
