Lhanbyde hotel decision deferred.
A hearing is to be held into the future of a former village hotel threatened with demolition.
Moray Council planning officers had recommended approval of an application to demolish the boarded-up Tennant Arms Hotel in Lhanbryde and replace it with a shop unit.
However, more than 100 villagers submitted objections to the proposal, with some claiming the building was an important local landmark.
Members of the council’s planning and regulatory services committee agreed to defer consideration of the planning application to a hearing at which the applicant and objectors will have the opportunity to state their respective cases.
