I have been Fundraiser /Administrator for Elgin Amateur Athletics Club for over 10 years and have loved every minute of it. Being a Receptionist at Trinity Dental Practice since 2009 has given me the opportunity of working and meeting some lovely people.
Being a keen supporter of better facilities for athletes I persuaded my work colleagues to enter a Work Step Count Challenge to Raise money for the new Moray Sports Centre project. To make it more interesting we have 3 teams counting steps while working and doing a "virtual walk around Scotland". The "Challenge" starts on 18th April 2016 for 8 weeks ending on the 12th June 2016.
For over twenty years a new sports centre has been spoken about but now it's on its way (2017). Moray has a lot of talented athletes, in the world of athletics. Mark Dry Scottish Hammer thrower, Commonwealth bronze medalist hopefully heading off to Rio this summer started off here in Moray at EAAC with very poor facilities.
We would love to raise as much as possible so that we can have better facilities for the youngsters to achieve their goals. Hopefully we can raise enough money to get some indoor athletic facilities with the view to getting some outdoor ones in the near future.
