Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron has criticised the SNP on their record in standing up for communities north of the central belt on a recent visit to the North East.

Mr Farron said:

“This is the first Scottish election when people are really starting to judge the SNP on their record. And the further you get from the central belt in Scotland, the more you get a sense that people don’t believe the SNP cares about rural communities

“We’ve seen the terrible way they’ve handled farm payments. Farmers should have been paid what they are owed months ago. We’re now nearly into May and the delays have led to a huge black hole in the rural economy.

“Liberal Democrats stand up for the communities for they represent. There is real Liberal Democrat strength in Scotland, our MSPs punched well above our weight at Holyrood.

Mr Farron went on to praise his candidate for Aberdeenshire East, Christine Jardine but people in Moray have never seen their Lib Dem Candidate- Mr Jamie Paterson.

Paterson hasn't been on any campaign activity in Moray and has been silent in the press.

Is this Liberal Democrat Strength among candidates?

Mrs Jean Hunter a Liberal Democrat Voter who contacted Around Moray said:

"If the Lib Dem Candidate for Moray cant be bothered to tell us what he stands for or make the effort to visit Moray then I cant be bothered to ever vote Lib Dem again."

Around Moray has received lots of e-mails asking for information about Mr Paterson over the last few weeks but the long and short of it is we have received nothing from the Lib Dem Candidate and know very little about what he can offer Moray.
