LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Why I'm disgusted to live in a place where 12,867 people went out and V

I can't believe we have 12,857 people in Moray who went out and voted Tory on Thursday.

This Party closed down most of Scotland's main industries in the 1980's putting thousands and thousands of good honest hard working family's on the bread line for decades, some areas have never recovered from what they did.

The Tory party wasted all of Scotland's oil revenues on its own in the SE of England leaving the jobless in Scotland to rot in the wasteland that it had created.

Thousands more children where plunged into poverty leaving them and future generations of children without hope or a chance of something better.

Social housing living conditions worsened with no new homes built or old ones upgraded, leaving family's living in absolute squalor.

Roll forward to the present day under this Tory government, we have seen an increase in working people using Food banks because their wages don't cover the basic needs of living.

Since 2010 we have seen thousands and thousands of our Children plunged back into poverty.

We have seen people with Terminal Illnesses and Disabilities have their vital disability payments cut or stopped altogether.

We have seen some of the poorest families being thrown on the streets because they couldn't pay the extra in rent for a spare bedroom, some who needed it because of disability needs, like equipment and home help sleep over's.

We saw the Tory Government hit Scotland with the Poll Tax 12 months before the rest of the UK, causing many more people to either go on the breadline or remove themselves from the electoral roll to prevent their personal goods being removed by debt collectors for unpaid Poll Tax.

It's hardly surprising the national suicide rate has gone up since the Tory's returned to power.

We saw this Tory government try and cut thousands of hard working family's tax credits to a point that would have plunged them into working poverty adding more to the list of working family's to the food banks already bulging lists of family's. They did however manage to cut the 3rd child from working family tax credits for new claimants.

This Tory Government believe you should only be allowed a Higher education if you can pay for it or plunge yourself into decade's worth of debt to fund it.

The Tory government believe you should pay for all medication, even on a low wage and even if this medication is a regular trip to the chemist due to a persistent illness.

This Tory Government didn't believe our Children deserved a good start in life with free School meals for all primary School Children, it was the Lib Dems who got that through in coalition and the SNP here in Scotland for P1-3 kids, imagine a Government who doesn't value its Children enough to make sure that every child under its care gets fed at least once a day, 5 days a week.

This Tory Government doesn't value our Teachers ,Doctors and Nurses enough to give them the pay they so rightly deserve in order to teach our children and save our lives every day.

I have often thought people who vote Tory here in Moray live in a bubble, they see nothing but the end of their own nose and the size of their bank balance.

I think the large amount of military personal we have in Moray also live in a bubble, not all but most. End of the military camp gates seems to be their world and nothing but Bonnie scenery and happy people live beyond it.

I believe a lot of people here in Moray Vote through nothing other than ignorance of what they truly stand for and a blind ignorance to defend them.

This is what really disturbs me. We must have people in Moray who believe cutting disability benefits for the terminally ill is a good thing.

Not paying Doctors a wage they deserve is a good thing.

Increases in hard working family's using food banks is good.

Thousands and Thousands of our children being plunged into poverty due to low pay,working family tax cuts and bedroom tax.

They must believe that every Child in Scotland doesn't deserve a higher education if their family can't afford it.

They must believe people don't deserve free medication.

These people must believe a worker can work until he/she dies on the factory floor because their body can still do the work of a younger person.

They must believe that some terminally ill people are fit enough to work and don't deserve benefits.

People can say "we voted Tory because he's a local boy and he's done good things in our community." The Local boy who probably has done good things in the community at local level still stands and votes with a party who stand by all the above I've mentioned, If he didn't he wouldn't be in the Tory Party would he ?

We live and breathe among people who think and believe in these Values here in Moray, Isn't that a disturbing thought .
