Trades Council Hustings Deemed a Success.
Moray Trade Union Council has declared its Scottish Parliament Hustings to have been very worthwhile following a feedback session by members who were in attendance on the day. The event which took place on International Workers Memorial Day gave members the opportunity to grill prospective candidates from most of the parties on a number of issues relating to Trade Union business.
Eilleen Morrisson current chair of the group expressed her gratitude for those who took the time to turn up and for their contribution.
"We at the Trades Union Council are always very keen to hear from our candidates first hand and are always very grateful for those who take time out of their busy schedule to speak with us. We were, in particular, interested to hear the candidates responses to questions regarding zero hour contracts and ongoing changes to welfare reform.
Our congratulations go to Richard Lochhead who won in the Moray Constituency and to Douglas Ross who got in on the Highlands and Islands list."
Moray Trade Union Council meets in the Seaforth Club in Elgin on the 3rd Monday of every month and is open to all Trade Unionists, friends and family to discuss matters of importance to the movement and workers within Moray.
