Findhorn is mourning the tragic death of a friend.


The Village of Findhorn is mourning the tragic death of Frank Whyte Jr.

Frank Whyte Jr, 69 was thrown into the sea when the vessel he was sailing capsized after a sudden, violent squall.

Emergency Services were called to the scene before 2pm on Saturday after alarms were raised that a man was in difficulty.

Frank a well known man in the local community was taken ashore, but was declared dead at the scene.

Frank had been out in his Yacht watching the Findhorn Royal Yacht Club's Battle of Britain Cup when the tragedy struck.

Rescue boats from the event scrambled to Frank when the upturned Hull of his boat was spotted.

Frank was pulled from the water and CPR was franticly administered, but unfortunately Frank couldn't be saved and died at the scene.
