Portknockie Primary School have beaten the rest of Scotland.


Portknockie Primary School who have beaten the rest of Scotland to become national walk-to-school champions.

They finished top of the class at the end of the three-week Walk of Fame programme run by Living Streets Scotland to encourage active travel to and from school.

Six other Moray primaries finished in the Top 10 - Portgordon in third, Aberlour fourth, Mortlach fifth, Kinloss eighth, Burghead ninth and Lhanbryde tenth.

Walk to School Week is part of the Walk to School campaign, which encourages parents and children to leave the car at home and take the chance to get outside and get fit by walking to and from school.

The week sees a range of events held around the country to highlight road safety and the benefits of walking to school.
